Job Details

Under the leadership of Dr Alejandra Brunawe are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Training Fellow to join the Preclinical Modelling of Paediatric Cancer Evolution.

We are seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral training fellow to work on a project studying difficult-to-treat paediatric solid tumours. The postdoctoral fellow will leverage lineage cell tracing coupled with single[1]cell state-of-the-art technology to understand phenotypic dynamics of treatment resistance and relapse. The applicant will generate and exploit in vivo and ex vivo improved patient-derived preclinical models (patient derived tumour xenograft or PDXs and PDX cell cultures or PDTCs, respectively). You will also develop mathematical models and adapt statistical methods to identify the hereditability of the non-genetic determinants of paediatric cancer evolution. Computational, mathematical and bioinformatic skills will be an intrinsic part of your scientific training and will be supported by colleagues at the Centre for Evolution and Cancer.

For general information on Post Doc's at The ICR can be found here.

Key Requirements

This is an ideal opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic scientist to join a dynamic research team with excellent collaborators and facilities. The role would suit candidates that can work semi-independently on the mathematical and computational analysis required to complete research involving single cell RNA sequencing and phylogeny analysis in cancer preclinical models. The project is supported by the mathematical modelling rich environment within the CEC , led by Prof. Trevor Graham with whom we  collaborate closely.

The ICR has a workforce agreement stating that Postdoctoral Training Fellows can only be employed for up  to 7 years as PDTF at the ICR, providing total postdoctoral experience (including previous employment at this level elsewhere) does not exceed 10 years
