Job Details

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced HR Manager to join our HR Operations team.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, HR Operations, and managing a team of two, you’ll work closely with other HR teams, including Recruitment, Systems and Information, and Learning and Organisational Development, to ensure the provision of an effective, end to end HR service to Scientific and Professional Services teams across the ICR. Providing dedicated HR business partnering to client groups, you’ll work with senior managers to give proactive and pragmatic advice and guidance on complex employee relations issues, including effective delivery of change management programmes. You will also be responsible for reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures, ensuring your team’s monthly payroll actions are submitted accurately and on time, as well as getting involved in cyclical HR work such as the annual pay review.

Key Requirements

Educated to degree-level or equivalent and with full membership of the CIPD, you’ll have managed complex ER casework, ideally within the academic, health or not-for-profit sectors. You’ll need to be highly computer-literate, with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly at all levels, both verbally and in writing. Excellent attention to detail is a must, as are strong organisational and prioritisation skills to deliver effectively within a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues across the organisation, along with previous line management experience are essential, as is experience of policy review and managing and advising on small scale team restructures. Knowledge and understanding of TUPE processes would be a distinct advantage
