Do you have a head for figures?

As HR Information and Systems Adviser, you’ll be responsible for providing timely and accurate data to internal and external stakeholders on our key people metrics. You’ll support the Head of Reward and Information in key projects such as our annual HESA return, salary benchmarking, production of our gender and ethnicity pay gap reports and the annual pay review. You’ll also work closely with key colleagues within other HR teams, such as Pensions and HR Operations, as well as those from across a number of other departments including Payroll,Finance, Academic Services and Digital Services. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring our HR systems run smoothly and efficiently for end users as well as for your HR colleagues, acting as the first point of contact for guidance, training and trouble-shooting.

 

Key Requirements

You’ll need to be highly computer literate, with advanced Excel skills including v-lookups and pivot tables, and the ability to present data in a user-friendly and professional format. Experience of analysing data using tools such as business intelligence software or report builders is essential. You’ll need to be able to prioritise your work effectively, and have excellent accuracy and attention to detail. A working knowledge of SQL and XML is highly desirable. You’ll have previous experience of using integrated HR systems and databases, including a good working knowledge of system functionality, user application testing and experience of acting as system administrator. Excellent customer service and a high standard of written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Experience of working in the academic sector, not for profit sector or NHS would be highly desirable, as would previous experience of completing or contributing to HESA returns.
