Key Information

Salary: Appointments are normally made at the starting salary, however comparable skills and experience will be considered. Future progression is based on annual performance review.

Duration of Contract: Fixed Term for 2 years 

Hours per week: 35 hours per week

Location: Sutton. This role is eligible for hybrid working, subject to a minimum number of days per week on site in Sutton

Job Details

As Clinical Research Career Development Manager, you will be required to provide support for clinical academic trainees and academic healthcare professionals, including the development and implementation of the Biomedical Research Centre's Capacity Building and Development Strategy.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  •  Knowledge of clinical academic career paths
  • Analytical skills, able to interpret national guidelines and analyse data and produce succinct summaries and evidence based recommendations
  • Able to communicate complex information to a range of audiences, including experienced scientists, clinicians and senior managers both within and external to the organisation
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to network effectively across organisations at all levels
  • Self motivated, ability to work with limited supervision and to identify and address issues on own initiative
  • Strategic thinking, ability to identify key trends and take a long term perspective

Department/Directorate Information

This role will work across both Royal Marsden and ICR, providing advice and support to the clinical academic training activities  for clinicians (doctors, nurses), allied health professionals and pharmacists
