Trainee Animal Technician

The ICR is strongly committed to the highest standards of animal welfare in all research studies, and has led the development of best practice in this area. We also support the principles of the 3Rs – replacement, refinement and reduction of use of animals for research – and are working to develop alternative experimental techniques. Under the leadership of the Facility Manager, we are seeking Trainee Animal Technicians to join our Biological Services Unit.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• High levels of motivation and a good work ethic
• A genuine passion to work with animals - demonstrating care, welfare, and compassion
• Previous experience working with (and handling) animals would be beneficial
• Accurate data entry
• Flexible and adaptable
• Enjoy working on your own and as part of a team
