Salary: Appointments are normally made at the starting salary, however comparable skills and experience will be considered. Future progression is based on annual performance review.

Job Details

As Fundraising Communications Officer, you will help engage donors and supporters with inspiring communications about the ICR’s science. You will produce a wide range of communications about research and its impact for patients, aimed at donor and supporter audiences.

This will include excellent and engaging content for fundraising materials, our website, email newsletters, bespoke donor communications and social media, to promote the world-leading cancer research at the ICR. 

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will need to be a skilled science communicator, who can find ways to make the ICR’s science accessible to donors and supporters. They will be a creative storyteller who is responsible for a regular output of high-quality news articles, features, and blog posts, and engaging digital content such as infographics and videos for use on our website and social media channels – alongside producing content for fundraising campaigns and philanthropic audiences. 

 

Department/Directorate Information

The Development and Communications directorate is responsible for fundraising and philanthropic income across the ICR, and telling the ICR’s story of doing outstanding cancer research – communicating effectively about the ICR’s work to help attract donors and supporters, the best staff and students, commercial partners, funders and collaborators, and to advocate for changes that support cancer research and improve access to the ICR’s discoveries.
