Salary: Commencement on the salary range is subject to comparable skills and experience. Future progression is based on annual performance review.

Job Details

Under the leadership of Dr Joanna Loizou, we are seeking to appoint a Higher Scientific Officer to join the Target Biology and Genome Stability team in the Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have at least a Masters level qualification in Cell Biology or an aligned subject; knowledge of cancer biology; and knowledge of experimental approaches to therapeutic target validation in cancer.

Department/Directorate Information

The Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery (CCDD) has been established to provide a platform for drug discovery projects at the ICR. The Centre’s dedicated resources, including biology, functional genomics, assay sciences,chemistry, and bioinformatics teams, will support joint project teams that combine the deep biological and therapeutic knowledge of ICR investigators with the validation and technical expertise of drug discovery scientists. Scientists in the CCDD will work closely with colleagues in the ICR’s Centre for Target Validation and Centre for Protein Degradation to exploit emerging technology and protein degradation tools for robust target validation experiments. The CCDD launches the robust targets validated by CTV and CPD into drug discovery programmes orinto collaborative programmes with external commercial therapy discovery
