Salary£41,900 - £43,000 per annum. Commencement on the salary range is subject to comparable skills and experience.

Job Details

Under the leadership of Dr Gideon Coster, we are seeking to appoint a Higher Scientific Officer to join the Genome Replication team at the Chelsea site of the ICR.

We are looking for an experienced cell biologist to head our cell-based studies. Work in the lab is currently focussed on in vitro biochemistry, but we are keen to expand our work to cell biology. 

In this role the HSO will largely perform independent research, including culturing and maintenance ofcell lines, establishing knock-out/knock-in cell lines, cell-based assayssuch as IF, ChIP-seq, proteomics and next-gen sequencing.

Key Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have a PhD in either genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or similar.
  • Broad knowledge in the fields of genome stability and cancer biology
  • Knowledge in the field of DNA replication and biochemistry
  • Experienced in cell culture techniques
