Scientific Officer - Epigenetics and Cancer

About you

The successful candidate must have: 

• a BSc or equivalent degree in Biomedical Science or related subject
• experience with molecular biology (cloning, PCR etc) and biochemistry techniques (protein purification, protein-protein interaction analysis and protein-DNA analysis).

About the Epigenetics and Cancer Group (Division of Cell and Molecular Biology)

The Epigenetics and Cancer Group, directed by Professor Kristian Helin, studies how fundamental biological processes are regulated and how these become perturbed in cancer. Our research is mainly focussed on how chromatin-associated proteins (epigenetics) regulate transctiption and control cell-fate decisions. We use a host of different methods in biochemistry, cell biology, and genetics (including mouse genetics) and several high-throughput genetic methods to identify potential novel therapeutic targets and achieve our goals.
