Location: Sutton/Chelsea. This role is eligible for hybrid working.

About the Role

We are seeking a recent sustainability or life sciences graduate looking to further their experience within the sustainability arena. 

This position, funded through the Royal Society of Chemistry’s 2024 Sustainable laboratories grant scheme will provide data for a laboratory sustainability focused project

Working as part of the Sustainability team, the candidate will collect data relating to laboratory glove recycling schemes. This will involve visits to recycling facilities, primary data collection for Life cycle assessment (LCA), focus group sessions with higher education sector organisations and literature searches.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Data collection and reporting on Glove recycling schemes within the UK  
  • Site visits to recycling facilities and inventory data collection for LCA analysis
  • Co-ordination of focus group discussions regarding the logistics and H&S implications of glove recycling 
  • Calculation of the carbon reduction vs cost benefits of UK schemes
  • Literature review of Pro-environmental spill over within laboratories
 
About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic, sustainability orientated individual who can work independently or as part of a team 

  • A recent sustainability or life sciences graduate with an interest in sustainability
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in [relevant software, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel].
