Under the guidance of Prof Clare Turnbull, we are seeking to recruit a Research Genetic Counsellor to contribute to two clinical transformation programmes funded by NHS England Cancer Programme and being delivered in close collaboration with the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the patient pathway, delivery of testing, and return of results, as well as having opportunities to get involved in key research and service evaluation activities aligned with the programmes.
About you
The successful candidate must have:
- A professional qualification in Genetic Counselling (STP Genomic Counsellor or MSc Genetic Counselling)
Or be a Registered Nurse with training and/or experience in genetic/genomics and counselling.
- The ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients.
- The ability to present complex genetic information verbally to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and general attention to detail
Department/Directorate Information
The position is primarily located within the Translational Genetics team at the ICR, under the guidance of Prof Clare Turnbull. The post holder will also hold on honorary contract within the Department of Cancer Genetics at the Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation, benefitting from journal clubs, MDTs and meetings across both departments.
